RAMP Updates

The new RAMP rules have been published, and will go into effect on November 1st, 2020 for the upcoming 2020/2021 Dungeness Crab season.  You can find the complete rulemaking here.

Our strong engagement with the both the California Whale Working Group (WWG) and the CA Dept of Fish and Wildlife has  helped keep us on the water for a full 2019/2020 season in the north and a month longer than expected in the South.

The following are recent letters sent to CDFW that highlight our concerns moving forward with RAMP.

Mission Statement

The dungeness crab industry working together to protect and preserve the California Dungeness Crab fishery for the continued economic survival of the West Coast commercial fishing fleet and our coastal communities.

Who We Are

The California Coast Crab Association (CCCA) is a non-profit 501(c)(6) trade organization made up of commercial crab fishermen and crab buyers formed to be a strong, unified voice for policy development and science based fishery management with the goal of sustaining commercial fishing dependent coastal communities.  We seek to make sure that California Dungeness Crab remains one of the most robust, sustainable fisheries in the world.

What We Do

CCCA is not a marketing association and will not engage in crab price negotiations or inner-port issues. CCCA will not interfere in the Tri-State Commission or with the Dungeness Crab Task Force's work on rule making recommendations to the CDFW and State legislature.  CCCA is the only self-funded CA Dungeness crab organization with no ties to environmental groups or NGO's.  We endeavor to resolve all Dungeness crab issues to the benefit of the CA crab industry at large.
